A Day with Virat Bhaiya

I got a sms saying that Virat bhaiya, a yesplus teacher is coming from Mumbai for a 1 day visit to Ahmedabad and there is a YES!+ meeting with him. I had no idea who this Virat bhaiya is and why he wanted to meet Ahmedabad team. In fact I didn’t knew why Ahmedabad team arranged a meeting with him. Since the meeting was in evening 7 pm, I decided to attend it thinking that anyways at home I would watch TV or gossip with friends on phone, compared to which a YES!+ meeting was much much happening.

It’s not that we do not gossip at YES!+, we definitely do. But its is little different. Go in Sanskrit has four meanings, out of which 1 meaning is knowledge. So we people at YES!+ do have a SIP of knowledge(GO SIP).

I reached at SSRVM, where the meeting was held, There were some more volunteers along with me and some YES!+ teachers discussing about the Guruji special YES!+ course. We got a message from Gaurav bhaiya(who was with Virat bhaiya) that they wil be late by half n hour. We did our favourite timepass till then, chanting OM NAMAH SHIVAY. By the time we finished chanting and settled down, Virat bhaiya came along with Gaurav bhaiya.

Virat Bhaiya
Virat bhaiya introduced himself and we all also introduced ourselves to Virat bhaiya. His introduction was impressive.Highly qualified(in art of living as well as in prosfssional life too), He is a soft skill trainer, Personality development trainer, Yes!+ teacher and much much more. He shared his experience of Mumbai YES!+ team and his experience with Bawa. It was awesome.

He also gave tips on intro talks, enrolments, marketing strategies, and many other things. It was fantastic to hear him. I wonder how mumbaiyya teachers are so skilful .Our Bawa and Dinesh are also from Mumbai. We got many important things to learn from him. ‘Aur bohot kuch chamka bhi’. We had a nice 2 hours session with him. We were suppose to finish the session by 9:00 pm, but it went upto 9:45 pm. Finally we all went home carrying lots of sattva with us.
Knowledge session with Virat Bhaiya

Next day morning around 8:00 am, some of YES!+ volunteers and teachers took Virat Bhaiya to Akshardham temple at Gandhinagar. We had great time. Visiting temple (or any pilgrimage place) in morning is just amazing experience, especially when you have done your Kriya and Sahaj. After that we left for Gandhi ashram at Ahmedabad. For the people who don’t know, Gandhiji use to Meditate daily and use to do Satsang daily. We all too Meditated at Gandhi ashram. It was wonderful experience. By 11:00 am, when half of the city just started its day, Our day was rising with so much enthusiasm. Finally we all had to go to our respected work. Of course Virat Bhaiya also had work in Ahmedabad and soon he left. Some of us met him in evening at some seminar.

The entire experience was super enjoyable with Virat bhaiya. All volunteers and teachers enjoyed a lot. We hope to see him again soon.(The above experience was shared by Ronak pala)

Beautiful Bhajan...

Longing and Creativity

Is there a connection between the feeling of longing and creativity? Can a sense of longing affect the level of creativity in a person?

This was the question that was bothering me since the day when unable to sleep, I got up and wrote a bhajan at 3 in the morning! In meager 15 minutes time! To find out the answer, I read up (a little) on what Guruji has to say about ‘longing’ and ‘creativity’ and also consulted my YES!+ teacher. Reading one of Guruji’s quotes sent by this teacher and connecting to something that G had said in one of the Geeta Paths, I came up with a simple, child like understanding of the whole thing.

So here are the two of Guruji’s quotes that I connected-

“Longing- the pain of separation- increases love in you and that increases prayerfulness in you”

                                                and

Something that comes out of the heart, is Geeta (probably not exactly in Guruji’s words)

Hence I reached to the conclusion that- longing ness increased prayerfulness and love in me- when I called out to Guruji with this love, the words that came out took the form of a song!

I don’t know if I’ ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ but it doesn’t matter as I’m happy!
(Guruji please correct me if I’m wrong ;))

As for the bhajan I wrote, read and sing along!

Nand ke lala
Masti ka tu pyala
Teri shararto se
Bana sabka tu pyara
Tarsa na ab aur
Aaja Gopala, Aaja Gopala
Aaja Gopala, Aaja Gopala....

Karna ho karna
Radha ke mann mohna
Mor mukut dhare tu
Lage hai sohna
Tarsa na abb ajaa- ajaa
Radhe krishna , ajaa ajaa radhe krishna

Hey Murli wale
Shyam rang nirale
Aas bhare naino se
Tujhe thaku na nihare
Tote sa mann mera rate
krishna radhe radhe
krishna radhe radhe
krishna radhe radhe
krishna radhe radhe

(The above experience and Bhajan was shared by YES!+ volunteer Manisha Yadav).

A poem by Mother Teresa( on her 100th Birthday)

Do it anyways
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway.
If you are successful u will win some false friends and some true enemies; succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; be happy anyway.
The good you do today, prople will forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and never it may be enough; Give the world the best you have got…anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and god; it never was between you and them anyway.

Get Motivated

If fate means you to lose, give it a good fight anyhow....!!!!

Plus, minus and multiplication

We all have learned Multiplication when we were in Pre-primary school. Today we will learn it’s actual meaning. So innocently read it further (just like a small kid).
1.    + *  + = + (plus multiplied by plus is equal to plus)
2.    + *  - = - (plus multiplied by minus is equal to minus)
3.    -  * + = - (Minus multiplied by plus is equal to minus)
4.    -  * - = + (Minus multiplied by Minus is equal to Plus)

Ø  + *  + = + (plus multiplied by plus is equal to plus)
This means ‘ Jo kaarya(action) aap ko karna chahiye woh agar aap karte ho toh result positive aayega’.

Ø  + *  - = - (plus multiplied by minus is equal to minus)
This means ‘ Jo kaarya aap ko karna chahiye woh agar aap nahi karte ho toh result negative aayega’.

Ø  - * + = - (Minus multiplied by plus is equal to minus)
This means ‘Jo kaarya aap ko nahi karna chahiye woh agar aap karte ho toh result negative aayega’.

Ø  - *  - = + (Minus multiplied by Minus is equal to Plus)
This means ‘Jo kaarya aap ko nahi karna chahiye woh agar aap nahi karte ho toh result positive aayega’.

YES!+ Experience(27th july 2010)

A new crowd came on 27th July to get empowered. They did not have much idea about what was going to be there in the course, nor did we as volunteer knew how the course will progress. But there was a difference between participants and volunteers. They were puzzled. We volunteers (Mohit, piyush, Hiren, Sneha, Divyesh and myself Ronak) had “shraddha” that things will go well. Dinesh bhaiyya says that Faith cannot replace the beautiful word “shraddha” (in Sanskrit).

First day was something like this. Participants sitting alone and not talking to others. Some looking at guruji’s photo and giving strange looks, and Some reading the instruction receipt. Some were feeling odd sitting down on the floor. Some were staring at the registration desks, trying to figure out what’s happening there. Finally their journey started, not just of the course!

With great enthusiasm, Tushar bhaiya started the course. If you want to give light to others, first you should have your own. All YES!+ teachers are full of enthusiasm. Sometimes I wonder where they get all this from! As volunteers  one of our job was to organize things. When things organize, they become beautiful. Right things at right place at right time. To do so much of right you need your left logical brain to function properly. Apart from participants, even we all volunteers were also learning during the course. Actually we were learning before and after the course as well.

During the course we had many YES!+ teachers who came and shared knowledge with participants. Gaurav bhaiya, Harsha didi, Tejal didi and some other teachers came and added value to the course. On the second day, even participants were amazed seeing how breathing techniques works fantastically well.
We volunteers had fun taking yoga, suryanamaskara and Pranayam counts. We felt alert, responsible, relaxed and joyful at the same time. Making people copy you, in yoga, warm up and suryanamaskara feels great. Satsang was fantastic with manjira and dholak. We missed Sarthak’s Guitar this time. Those 60 minutes of satsang with everyone passed very fast.

Official timing of the course to get over was 2pm on 1st august. But it went till 4pm. Participants had a glimpse of art of living family. Finally we pushed them to their home knowing that they will not go by their own. After that we had volunteers meet.  There were 2 reasons. First was friendship day and second was planning for forthcoming courses. We realized that we should have such meetings regularly. When you talk about your ideas with people who have similar intentions, your ideas take shape and become implementable with the help of others. Bawa says it’s a good idea to implement a good idea. With a vision to improve, we all volunteers ended the first series of our meeting. It was perfect YES!+ meeting. With lots of fun, learning, people listening to each other and interacting. Can’t have better friendship day than this ! (The above experience was shared by YES!+ volunteer Ronak pala).

Trip to Vasad Ashram

A Trip to Our Home

We started from SSRVM, a nice cloudy day with mercury not more than 33 degrees Celsius (In Ahmedabad this is said to be decent cool weather). We had just reached outskirts of the city n all of us felt like 90 minutes of journey can’t be done with empty stomach.

Tushar bhaiya pointed at one place saying “Batata wada yaha pe aacha milta hai”. So we had hot batata wada with two hot chutnies, this time chutnies were hotter than batata wada for a change. Soon we left for the heaven in Gujarat. On the way Tushar bhaiya started guru pooja chanting. Me(Ronak) and Divyesh at the back seat, Tushar bhaiya at my favorite shotgun front seat and sunil driving the car. Before starting the pooja Tushar bhai said everyone can close their eyes and sit comfortably. Thank god Sunil didn’t close his eyes.

On the way to ashram we asked people for directions, we noticed there were so many names for the same place, like Vasad Ashram, The art of living ashram, Gujarat ashram, Aklawadi ashram, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ashram and many more. Finally we were at our home. The energy in the air was so high. Lush green everywhere, clouds slowly aggregating in, calm cows, sounds of birds and yet amazing silence in the atmosphere. What a place…!

Since we were only three people Tushar bhaiya doubted for having long kriya. I thought it would be great if we did long kriya in ashram. We then went to Gokul hall where Lavkesh bhaiya was taking YES!+ course. The course reminded me of my YES+ and Lavkesh bhaiya reminded me of BAWA who was teacher for my course. We also joined them and did some of the processes. This is the most amazing thing about YES!+, all processes are so much fun to do and no matter how many times u repeat the same process, you will enjoy it as if you have done it for the first time.

Tushar bhaiya soon found one more person for long kriya and finally it was happening. We felt so lucky because not every one gets chance to do long kriya in the ashram.

We went to nandi’s lobby for long kriya. Before we start it started raining. First time in my life I had a rainy long kriya, amazing experience. When we opened our eyes it was just a mesmerizing feeling. Everything looked so beautiful . All of us felt hungry. There was still time for lunch. We went to divine shop and got something to eat.

We went back to YES!+ course, shared our YES!+ experience with participants and then we had to go for saatvic lunch in Annapurna. Sunil said food will be masalaless. But above our all expectations, food was awesome, puri, chole, kadhi, rice, sheera and my favorite buttermilk too. It’s even worth traveling so long just for food. After lunch Lavkesh bhaiya invited us all to his room. All the participants were doing yog nindra. A perfect process after having awesome lunch.

We began our discussion with Lavkesh bhaiya, nice interactive session, that time I knew that he was a model before coming to Art of living. Of course we all learned a lot as well. Then we soon went to the YES!+ participants with Lavkesh bhaiya. We were about to leave, Lavkesh bhaiya said us to wait for 15 min as last group was to perform a dance on “dekha jo tujhe yaar” song from the movie apna sapna money money. It was a spontaneous performance. Soon every one joined them. When we felt we were short of dance move, all started doing garba. Garba and Bhangra are such a nice things that you can do it in all dance songs.

It was then time to leave. With a promise to return . On the way back we had a nice jamming up of bhajans with Tushar bhaiya and sunil on vocals, Divyesh with the base, me with tabla. On the express way journey looks very short and with satsang on the way even shortened.

It was a perfect vacation. Guruji says a vacation is which makes you relaxed and not tired. With so much of energy from the ashram one can only get energized. If my friend you missed this time , there is always next time. Do not miss the opportunity of a trip to ashram. Jai gurudev. (Above Experience shared by Ronak)
